Bar Food - West LA Wilshire Blvd

I recently went to Bar Food. It's a small place with interesting art hanging on the walls, including two different Michael Jackson portraits. Loved both of them. The place is owned by a man named Jason. He, like most restaurant owners, is dedicated to the success of this little spot. When we first came in we were going to leave but he stopped us and asked why, we said we wanted something with more substance than nibblers. He eagerly informed us that they are just rolling out their new "winter menu" which includes a Shepherd's Pie with a mixed greens salad. The pie was airy and light considering it's contents (mashed potatoes, garlic and ground beef). Ci had the Fish and Chips. I must say these are the best Fish and Chips I've had. The chips came perfectly lightly salted with a seasoning that didn't overpower the taste of the potato. The fish was incredibly tender and easily fell came apart. The dish was complimented with a tartar sauce that had subtle hints to lemon and capers.

Drinks: They serve beer, wine and whiskey. They have a great happy hour and tv's for your football viewing enjoyment. This spot seems to be a hidden gem, I'll be coming back to watch some football and enjoy their food.
